replica 1820 Baffin Island Kayak

The original is in the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter, U.K., and was surveyed by John Brand, but remains unpublished. It was collected by Parry from Inuit living in the vicinity of Kangirtugaapik (Clyde River) on Northeast Baffin. I have built two of these kayaks, the first was built at Clyde River, where it remains. It measures 16'11" long, 26" wide, and 9" deep to sheer.
