Replica of a ca. 1889 Norton Sound Kayak
This replica was based on a drawing in Adney & Chappelle's "The Bark Canoes and Skinboats of North America" (1964:198, fig. 182. It measures 16'11-3/4" long, 23-1/2" wide, and 9" deep to sheer. The depth overall is 14-3/8", giving it lots of room for cargo. I built this kayak in 1996.
