This is a replica of a Chugach kayak in the Canadian Canoe Museum, Peterborough, Ontario. The kayak
measures 14'6-1/4" long and is 27-11/16" wide. This replica was built in July, 2006. The lines of this kayak are published in "Kayaks of Alaska."

This kayak's cockpit is situated well behind the kayak's mid-point.

The bow piece is carved from a 10" wide piece of western red cedar that
I split out of a driftwood log. I still had to glue on the upper few inches to
achieve the proper height.

The completed kayak: 8-14-2006.
